Brendan and I have been on a Halloween cooking kick this week. We made Spider Cookies and colorful spooky spaghetti. He loved making both and they were very easy.

Spider Cookies

The easiest way to make these fun cookies is to purchase cookie dough that is pre-made. You can choose any type that you want. Brendan and I made peanut butter and chocolate chip. We didn't have too much time so we skipped making the dough from scratch and bought the premade dough. In the cooking aisle at the store we grabbed the eye balls. With Halloween around the corned we went to the candy aisle and grabbed miniature peanut butter cups and some chocolate to melt for the legs.

  1. Bake the cookies as directed on the packaging.

  2. While they are still warm add a miniature cup to the middle of the cookie and press down. They will melt a bit but no worries.

  3. Add the eyes

  4. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate to make the legs.

  5. We used a chopstick to draw on the legs with the chocolate. This step was the hardest and for Brendan he got a little frustrated so he made some of the legs on the spider out of black frosting that was easier to put on them

Halloween Spaghetti

  1. Boil water

  2. Boil noodles until cooked (11 minutes)

  3. Drain them and separate them into different bowls.

  4. In each bowl, add a couple of drops of food coloring. Use one color in each bowl.

  5. Put on some rubber gloves and massage the coloring into the noodles.

  6. Put the noodles back in the coriander and rinse them with hot water.

  7. Serve and add some warmed up sauce on top
