Medicine Arrival

My medicine arrived yesterday, I had my first ultrasound and blood work today, and I start my shots tomorrow. The big box that the medicine came in was intimidating but to be honest I just want to get the process going. This morning I had my first ultrasound and blood work done. The nurse was AMAZING which makes this uncomfortable process so much better. I did not receive a calendar telling me what and amount of medication to take but I found out that is because it changes throughout the week based on how my body is responding to the medication. I am such a planner that this makes me uncomfortable but at least I know my protocol for Friday-Sunday. This is something I wish was outlined to me sooner.

Today I also found out that through this process of blood work and ultrasounds that they will be able to tell me how many eggs they are seeing everyday. r I have ultrasounds scheduled every other day. On the last ultrasound on May 12th they will be able to give me a pretty accurate idea of how many eggs they expect to retrieve on the day of the procedure. This brought me so much comfort knowing what we can expect. The unknown of IVF is the scariest part. The day of our retrieval they will also give us an update as to which eggs are fertilizing. Every day the embryologist will call and give us an update of their progress. By May 20th we should know how many embryos we have which I am so excited about! I just can't stop thinking about how grateful I am to science and medicine that we have these capabilities. It really blows my mind.

This is everything that came in for the first portion of the egg retrieval process.
