I started my shots on Friday! They really were not too bad. I am going to discuss my protocol with you but please note that if you are going through IVF, your process and protocol could be different. It makes sense, no two people are the same. I never thought I would be sensitive to discussing IVF with anyone that has gone through it, I was wrong. As I have opened up to going through IVF I have met several people that have also gone through it. On several occasions I have felt that a person will ask about what medicines you are on to compare it to what they went through. That is fine but don't let anyone make you feel that what your doctor has directed is wrong. You need to trust your doctor and know that their job through IVF is to get you pregnant. They use the method they see as the best fit for you. Feel comfort in knowing that, I know I do, but I will admit I have gotten my feelings hurt a time or two by someone telling me my doctor is doing it wrong.

I am taking Gonal F 300mg and Menopur 150mg to start off. So day 1-3 those were the dosages I was given. I have entered day 4 but don't take my shot until the evening. I had an appointment this morning and had an ultrasound and blood work. The team saw 5 eggs in my right ovary and 4 in my left ovary. I am really excited! So now my blood work will come back this afternoon and my doctor will send me an update if my dosage needs to stay the same or change. He uses the ultrasound and blood work to make that determination. Over the course of this week we will be watching for these eggs to mature and hopefully be viable for the egg retrieval. I did get sick on Saturday night in the middle of the night and had a headache most of the day yesterday. I was told this is normal and just a side effect of the meds. It is good to know that is normal.

Day 4 my notes from the Dr. indicated that my medication would now be 375 Gonal F and 150 Menopur. I felt average last night and pretty good today. I can't believe that the retrieval is 1 week away. It feels like the process is going fairly quickly. I am looking forward to my ultrasound tomorrow to see how things are progressing.

Gonal F injection; 1 of the 2 shots I am currently taking.
